Where Does the Time Go…

Well, the coaching program with Shaune Clarke has provided me with way more value than I had hoped for! We are nearing the end, and I am closing in on when I will quit my day job. This was very exciting, until I started thinking, and logistics started closing in…

Okay, insurance – sure, I’ll need some sort of insurance once my work policy runs out…No worries – just a task on the to-do list…

Then I realized that I have a signing bonus which requires a full year of service, or I could be made to repay it. It wasn’t a life changing amount of money, but it is something that I’d rather not have to write a check for! It’s about 3 months of my expenses. The kicker is – I’d have to stay at my day job through the end of October. That’s 3 more months!!!! I don’t think that is feasible.

I decided I am going to let the universe make this call. I will continue to pursue my copywriting and internet marketing with 100% intensity – if clients and opportunities start to roll in, that will be my sign that I was meant to leave at that point.

I’m going to be tracking my activities to getting those first clients and seeing some internet revenue coming in! I look forward to hearing comments and feedback from those who have “been there” and those who look to make this leap themselves someday.

Innaugural Post!

This is the first post of my journey to professional (successful, mind you!) copywriter!

I found out about copywriting via the AWAI website (via the International Living website!), and immediately decided this was the “next career” for me and ordered the 6-Figure Copywriting course.  The course stagnated for a month or so whilst some personal issues were sorted out, but I have now dug in and committed myself to this process and to my successful transition!  Friday I signed up to start a coaching program with Shaune Clarke commencing May 15th or so – and with that 12 weeks of intense work that hopefully will culminate with some paying work and a start at developing a client list.

In the meantime, I am madly working on the AWAI course to complete as much as possible prior to starting with Shaune, and reading and connecting with as many notable copywriters as possible.  I am interested in learning about upcoming seminars and networking opportunities.  I am hoping that my business background and project management skillset allow me to move into paid copywriter territory as quickly as possible!

Thank you all for stopping by to hear about my journey! I will be posting often and in as much detail as possible to hopefully inspire myself and others to continue down this path!
